Photo of the Week for December 12, 2014

The rich star cluster M52 (left centre) in Cassiopeia is visible in binoculars, though not in the detail seen in this image by Luc Bellavance of Rimouski, Quebec. The famous Bubble Nebula is located near the middle of NGC7635, the pinkish emission nebula at centre. NGC7538 is the nebula at extreme right.

A Canon EOS Rebel T1i DSLR camera set to ISO3200 and attached to a William Optics 80mm ED f/6.8 refractor telescope were used for this combined digital stack of 14 five-minute exposures.
