Photo of the Week for November 15, 2013

While the night sky alone can make for a compelling photograph, often the foreground can turn a good photo into a great photo. Warren Finlay of Edmonton, Alberta, took this image of the Milky Way above an abandoned grain elevator near Tofield, Alberta. The first-quarter Moon illuminated the grain elevator as did lights from the property owner. Equipment: Nikon D7000 DSLR camera with a 10.5mm lens, 30-second exposure at f2.8 using ISO 3200.
