Photo of the Week for June 21, 2019
There’s a lot going on in this photo captured last June, from a location east of Crossfield, Alberta. We have the vivid reds and oranges of sunrise, electric blue noctilucent clouds and a wash of pale green from a lingering auroral display. Add to the mix a few points of starlight penetrating morning twilight and you have a wonderful portrait of the dawn sky.
John Andersen recorded the scene with a tripod-mounted Canon EOS 6D DSLR camera equipped with a Tamron 15-30mm zoom lens set to 30mm and f/2.8 for this 3.2-second exposure at ISO1600.
