Photo of the Week for June 2, 2017
Mirabel, Quebec, astrophotographer Yanick Bouchard usually sends us detailed deep-sky images, like this fine image of M33. But a photographer is a photographer. “Once in a while, I let go of my telescope to have a little fun with my camera and a fish-eye lens,” he wrote.
While staying at a friend’s cottage north of Manawan, Quebec, Yannick captured this serene scene featuring the full Moon over the waters of Baie-Atibenne. He used a Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR camera and Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 lens working at f/6.3. The photo is a single, 23-second exposure recorded at ISO 800.
