Photo of the Week for May 31, 2019
This evocative, composite photo was created by photographer Tom Evans while visiting Skitchine Lodge in North Kamloops, British Columbia. Tom combined seventeen images captured over a three hour period, beginning with a shot of his brother-in-law, Al (the fisherman), taken just after sunset.
Once it was dark, Tom made nine tracked exposures (180-seconds each, at ISO 800) of the Milky Way, and then recorded the horizon and lake with seven additional, untracked frames (20 seconds each at ISO 3200). He used a Canon EOS 6D DSLR camera and Canon 16-35 f/2.8L II USM zoom lens (working at f/2.8) for all exposures.
