Photo of the Week for December 20, 2013
Though we are supposedly at the peak of the solar cycle where we should be seeing auroras with greater frequency in southern Canada, big displays of northern lights are few and far between compared to previous solar maximums. However, minor displays do appear to be occurring with more frequency. In early December Andrew Kwon saw the northern lights for the first time in his life from northern Ontario and took this 30-second exposure using a Canon Rebel T3i camera with an 8mm fisheye lens.
