Photo of the Week for January 27, 2017
Sometimes you get the photo you want, sometimes you don’t. Sometimes you get something better. Around midnight late last June, Steve Irvine set up his camera for a star-trail shot from his home in Georgian Bluffs, on Ontario’s Bruce Peninsula. What he got was a photograph capturing a little more than one hour of star trails plus the luminous comings and goings of innumerable fireflies.
Steve’s image is a stack of 200, 20-second exposures captured at ISO 3200 with a Canon EOS 6D DSLR camera fitted with a 17-40mm zoom lens set to 17mm and f/4.5.
