Photo of the Week for July 11, 2014
Using a 6-inch f/8 Istar refractor at his observatory near Cambray, Ontario, Brian Colville recorded this sharp image of the equatorial region of the Sun, on July 6. This is a standard white-light solar filter view in the steady morning air (often the best time for solar observing before the ground start radiating enough heat to blur the image). A Lunt Solar Wedge, and a Baader Solar Continuum filter were used.
