Photo of the Week for July 25, 2014
Steve Irvine of Big Bay, Ontario, was ready early Thursday morning (July 24) to catch the crescent Moon and two planets in the eastern sky at 5:04 a.m. Venus shines with its usual brilliance to the left of the Moon, while Mercury — bright but significantly dimmer than Venus — is at lower left. Steve used a tripod mounted Canon 6D DSLR camera at ISO 200, with 65-millimetre lens at f/5.6, for this 1.6-second exposure.
